NORTH MOROCCO TRAVEL INFO

Morocco travel itinerary map Why? Morocco is a country rich of natural and cultural attractions. The dry climate is another good reason to visit Morocco. Of course, the inexperienced traveler should be aware that this is an Arab country facing some economic problems (but everybody does, nowadays!).
When? Morocco boasts beaches, snow-capped mountains and deserts. In most of the country the heat is the worst enemy during the summer months, while the rest of the year is excellent for an active exploration of the country. In winter it might be rainy sometimes, and even cold, especially if you visit the coast and the mountains.
How? Morocco can be conveniently toured by car. With your own wheels you will be able to drive through extraordinary landscapes and to stop here and there to admire the view or to have a walk. Traffic is a pain, but only in the cities (try to honk once every two to three seconds), while all roads may feature sudden holes... but it’s all worth to enjoy your freedom.
How much? Flights from Europe to Morocco (Marrakesh or Fez) are very cheap thanks to low cost airlines (you might find a round-trip flight for 50-100 euros). The cost of life is low: you can have a decent dinner for 5 euros, a good one for 10.

Where? In the northern part of Morocco there are the beautiful cities of Fez, Rabat and Meknes. The village of Sefrou and the surrounding rural areas are quite picturesque. Moreover, antique mosques and Roman ruins will make even tired dromedaries love history and culture, at least for a few moments.
Other destinations? First of all check out this other travel itinerary in Morocco.
Plus, surfers and sun-tanners might appreciate all the Moroccan coast from Essaouira to Agadir. There are other historic cities such as Casablanca or Tangier. The northern part of Morocco has a Mediterranean flair, while the Atlas Mountains feature spectacular landscapes.
